So now that winter has finally rolled around in Southern California, and warm days are unlikely... I find myself relatively bored now that all of my plants have been brought inside. My boyfriend's father has a young-ish avocado tree in his backyard; I believe this may be the first year it's born fruit. I've just joined the community, we've got a beatiful red acer in our garden, and I wondered if anyone knew if it would be possible to take a cutting from it? If that is possible I'd appreciate any advice I could get o the subject.
Me again! Has anyone had any experience with cuttings from a paddle plant? Would it be different than with a Jade? Do I cut off the whole leaf? And what is "rooting" hormone? I wanted to give a baby plant of mine to a friend.
